6-5-20: STILL HEALTHY, STILL SMILING!
6-1-20: Visitors are now welcome in the Independent Living portion of the building, provided they have no symptoms and wear a face mask throughout! We are so happy to see the (albeit covered) faces of our residents' family members - we've missed you! Here's hoping we'll be able to open Assisted Living soon!
5-29-20: We are healthy! No cases or symptoms, and we are thrilled to report that the one positive case we had has recovered and is doing well! We are very grateful. Beginning Monday, June 1st, we will again welcome families and visitors into the Independent Living portion of the building. We will continue to require everybody to wear masks throughout the building. We are excited to begin taking careful steps toward normalcy! *All meals will continue to be delivered to apartments, as our dining room will remain closed for the time being. Transportation in the van is limited to doctor, dentist and hair appointments as well as necessary trips to financial institutions. We are not taking residents to grocery stores or other establishments at this time. Per state regulations, the Assisted Living portion of the building must remain closed to visitors.*
5-27-20: We are accepting deposits and beginning June 1st, we will be (carefully) allowing move-ins! We are being very cautious when welcoming new residents and visitors, asking all to wear masks and to use our moving company if hiring movers. Please call with any questions!
5-26-20: We are healthy! Check out our brand new YouTube channel - we're still working on building content, but you can find a few video tours of apartments as well as some "just for fun" stuff!
5-22-20: In honor of ours and all veterans, the business office will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. As always, Assisted Living staff are on site 24/7. Thank you to all who serve!
5-20-20: Beginning June 1st, 2020, we will begin allowing visitors in the Independent Living portion of the building. This includes family and friends. We will require face masks to be worn at all times when outside apartments. We hope this small step toward normalcy is the first of many, but we will carefully monitor the community situation and revise our policies as necessary. Per state regulations, the Assisted Living portion of the building must remain closed to visitors.
5-18-20: Per Governor Reynolds' 5-13-20 conference, Melrose will begin slowly lifting some restrictions. All are still required to wear masks and maintain social distance. As we are all healthy in the building, we will once again open our hair salon for appointments. Our stylist and residents must wear a mask at all times during their appointment, and no more than 2 residents in the salon at a time to preserve social distance. We will also open our Wellness Center to a limited number of people at a time, with strict sanitation rules and small group activities limited to 10 or fewer residents. A modified activities schedule is being created in an attempt to accommodate all those who wish to participate. The van will once again be available for transportation, though we are limiting van rides to doctor, dental and hair appointments as well as bank and pharmacy drive-thru trips. All are required to wear masks and maintain social distance at all times. The pool and dining rooms remain closed and meals continue to be delivered to apartments.
5-18-20: WE ARE HEALTHY! No cases or symptoms in the building. One resident tested positive the weekend of 5-3-20 while already in isolation after an ER visit. Thankfully, due to this immediate isolation following their ER visit, this resident had zero contact with residents, staff or common rooms. We are happy to report that this resident has recovered well and will once again be isolated in their apartment for two weeks upon their return from the hospital (still pending). No additional symptoms or cases!
5-1-20: WE ARE HEALTHY! Please remember that while the front office is closed on weekends, there are always staff on site in Assisted Living.
4-22-20: WE ARE HEALTHY! Feel free to stop by for our 2pm patio parties every weekday (weather permitting and from a safe distance)!
4-15-20: WE ARE HEALTHY! If you aren't on our family email list and would like to be, please email to be added to the list for updates and happenings.
Melrose is still a happy, healthy building. As cases in our county increase, we're playing it extra safe and asking our residents to do the same by wearing face masks when outside their apartments. We're sharing what we have with those who haven't been able to find their own, but if you know of anybody who has some, we'd sure appreciate them!
4-8-20: Weekdays around 2pm (weather permitting), staff are going around the building with a bluetooth speaker, encouraging residents to come out on their patios/balconies for DANCE PARTIES! Family members are welcome to drive or stop by and dance together from a distance. :)
4-6-20: MELROSE IS STILL HEALTHY with no cases or symptoms! However, per state mandate, all staff are required to wear gloves, mask, glasses or goggles, and a face shield when in the Assisted Living portion of the building.
4-1-20: All staff are required to record their temperature and any symptoms at the start and end of each shift. Essential caregivers such as home health aides are required to record their temperature and any symptoms as well as wearing gloves and mask when in the building.
3-31-20: For the protection of all residents and employees, staff members and caregivers are now wearing masks throughout the building and when interacting with others.
3-26-20: Business office hours continue at 8:00am - 4:30pm, Mon-Fri. (As always, Assisted Living staff are on site 24/7.) Please bring any deliveries to the main entrance during business hours. We have installed a doorbell in the front foyer if we happen to be away from the desk when you arrive. Thank you for your patience!
3-23-20: Per state mandate, the swimming pool and salon are closed until further notice.
NO VISITORS are allowed into the building at this time (family included). Staff, residents and essential caregivers only. Entrances are locked.
Family members can drop off groceries and supplies in the foyers. Staff can help residents carry items to their apartment if necessary. Please call the resident or front office ahead of time so you're expected at the front door.
Van rides are limited to doctor appointments.
Normal cleaning and sanitizing procedures have been exponentially increased and are carefully monitored. Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the building.
Group activities and group dining have been cancelled. Residents are free to move about the building and the grounds, though we encourage social distancing per CDC guidelines. Meals are delivered to apartments.
Staffing continues as usual, with temperature and symptom screening upon entering the building, and strict instructions to stay home if showing symptoms, after exposure or international travel.
